Latest Update: The Director of School Education, Andhra Pradesh has issued instructions on the identified teachers who will serve as Resource Persons for implementation of the Spell Bee Programme during the Academic Year 2026-27.

The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department is implementing a comprehensive Spell Bee Programme as part of the Curriculum Revamp 2026-27. The programme aims to strengthen English language learning through structured classroom activities, enrichment programmes and competitions at multiple levels.

Main Objectives of AP Spell Bee Programme

  • Improve students' English vocabulary and spelling accuracy.
  • Strengthen correct pronunciation and reading fluency.

  • Conduct language enrichment activities and multi-level competitions.

Constitution of Spell Bee Resource Team

Academic Monitoring Officers identified two teachers from every district. Based on the lists submitted by the AMOs, 50% of the teachers were identified as Resource Persons.

Eligibility Criteria for Resource Persons

  1. Good command over the English language, with sound vocabulary and pronunciation.
  2. Demonstrated interest in innovative and activity-based English language teaching.
  3. Experience in conducting language development programmes, competitions or academic activities.
  4. Good communication, coordination and mentoring skills.
  5. Willingness to participate in State, District and Mandal-level academic programmes.

Roles and Responsibilities of Selected Teachers

  1. Function as District-level Resource Persons for Spell Bee implementation.
  2. Assist SCERT, District Educational Officers and Academic Monitoring Officers in planning and implementation.
  3. Facilitate Spell Bee activities at School, Cluster, Mandal, District, Zonal and State levels.
  4. Support orientation programmes, teacher training and capacity-building activities.
  5. Conduct demonstration sessions, mentoring and academic monitoring.
  6. Assist in preparing, validating, translating where required, and disseminating learning resources, question banks and activity modules.
  7. Promote classroom-based vocabulary enrichment and language development activities throughout the academic year.

Instructions to District Educational Officers

All District Educational Officers in Andhra Pradesh have been requested to take immediate necessary action and communicate the proceedings to the identified Resource Persons. Copies were also marked to all Regional Joint Directors of School Education, all APCs in the State and the State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Andhra Pradesh.
