The Hon'ble Supreme Court, in Civil Appeal No. 1385 of 2025 dated 01.09.2025, judgment envisaged that the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualification is mandatory for the concerned in-service teachers and directed that those having more than five years of service remaining for superannuation shall acquire the said qualification within the period stipulated by the Further, while disposing of the Review Petitions arising out of the aforesaid judgment, the Hon'ble Supreme Court, by order dated 29.05.2026, declined to interfere with the requirement of acquiring the TET qualification. However, taking note of the practical difficulties expressed by various States and stakeholders, the Hon'ble Supreme Court extended the time for compliance up to 31.08.2028 and further directed the concerned authorities to conduct Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) examinations periodically, preferably twice in a year, with an interval of approximately six months, so as to provide adequate opportunities to eligible teachers to acquire the prescribed qualification within the stipulated period.
In view of the Judgement of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No.1385 of 2025, dated 01.09.2025, the Government in Memo.No.3303567/Services.I/A2/2026, dated 25.06.2026 and 24.08.2026 have accorded permission to the Director of School Education to conduct Special TET for In-service Teachers appointed prior to 2011, besides regular TET as usual to enable them to obtain the TET qualification before 08.2028 in compliance with the deadline stipulated by the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
Accordingly, online applications are invited from In-service (Regular and appointed on Minimum Time Scale) Teachers working in Government / Local Bodies / APREIS / Government Welfare Societies Residential / AP Model Schools / Aided Schools / Teachers working in other Government departments schools, are only eligible for appearing at the Special AP TET-August, 2026 to be conducted Online as Computer Based Test (CBT) by Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Special APTET-August, 2026 will be conducted in 2 papers viz. Paper-I & Paper-II. Teachers for classes I to V have to appear for Paper-I and teachers for classes VI to VIII have to appear for paper-II. However, teachers of classes I to V who intend to be teachers for classes VI to VIII (subject to condition of possessing other required qualifications) have to appear for both papers i.e., paper-I and Paper-ll.
Special APTET-August, 2026 for in-service teachers:
- All In-service (Regular and appointed on Minimum Time Scale) Teachers working in Government / Local Body / APREIS / Government Welfare Societies Residential / AP Model Schools / Aided /Teachers working in other Government departments ONLY are permitted to appear for Special APTET-August, 2026.
- Pass in Special APTET-August, 2026 shall be considered as qualified only for fulfillment of the mandatory condition by all teachers either for continuing in their present post of working or promotion to the next higher post from the present post of working as per the orders of the Honorable Supreme Court of India in Civil Appeal No.1385/5025 and batch of other related Civil Appeals dt.01.09.2025 and Review petition (Civil) Diary No. 53434 of 2025 and batch of other related Dated:29.05.2026.
- Pass in Special APTET-August, 2026 cannot be used for appearing in any direct recruitment in future. For appearing in any direct recruitment candidates need to appear for the regular APTET/ CTET.
- Secondary Grade Teachers and LFL Head Masters working in Government and Local Body Schools appointed with both D.El.Ed. and B.Ed. qualification are permitted to appear for Paper I.
- School Assistants, TGTs, Language Pandits, Head Masters of High Schools are permitted to appear for Paper II.
- School Assistants who are working as PS HMs shall appear for paper-II in their concerned subject.

Issuing of Notification and Publishing of Information bulletin for SPECIAL TET FOR INSERVICE TEACHERS – AUGUST – 2026 on 24.08.2026, candidates can apply for SPECIAL TET FOR INSERVICE TEACHERS – AUGUST – 2026‘ONLINE’ only through APTET official website http://cse.ap.gov.in/ from 25.08.2026.
Steps to be followed in submission of application online:
- The candidates shall first download the ‘Information Bulletin’ from the APTET website http://cse.ap.gov.in/, go through it carefully and satisfy their eligibility for appearing for SPECIAL TET FOR INSERVICE TEACHERS – AUGUST – 2026.
- The candidate, after satisfying himself/herself about the eligibility criteria for APTET, shall first register by furnishing the basic details. Upon registration at APONLINE/e-Seva, the candidate shall be issued a ‘Journal Number’. Using this ‘Journal Number’, the candidate shall submit the application online from 25.08.2026 to 24.09.2026. After successful registration and submission of the application, the candidate shall pay a fee of Rs.1000/- for each subject through the Payment Gateway between 25.08.2026 to 24.09.2026. It is clarified that the issue of a ‘Journal Number’ does not imply completion of the application process; it merely acknowledges registration. Only those candidates who have successfully paid the prescribed fee and finally submitted the online application within the stipulated dates shall be considered as having successfully applied for SPECIAL TET FOR INSERVICE TEACHERS–AUGUST – 2026.
- The candidates shall follow the procedure for submission of online application as given in the ‘Information Bulletin’ and instructions provided online while filling up the online application The Candidate should be ready with photograph of size 3.5X3.5cms before filling in online application.
- Paste the photograph on a white paper and sign below (sign in Black Ink only). Look for the sample at point 12(ii), of the Information Bulletin. Ensure that the signature is within the box. Scan the required size containing the photograph and signature. Please do not scan the complete page. The entire image consisting of photo along with signature is required to be scanned and stored in “jpeg” format on local machine. Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50kb.If the size of the image is more than 50kb, then adjust the settings of the scanner such as dpi resolutions, number of colours during the process of scanning.
- Applications with no photo / unclear photo / inadequate size photograph will be rejected. Hall – Ticket will not be issued to such candidates. Hence, after pressing the ‘UPLOAD’ button check if the photo is of required size, clear and is of the same candidate of whom the details are to be filled in the application. If the photo is smaller in size, not clear or does not belong to the candidate press ‘BACK’ button below the photograph on the application form and restart with scanning of the photograph
- Complaints relating to mismatch of photograph and candidate details will not be accepted after submission of application at any cost.

Eligibility:
The In service (Regular and appointed on Minimum Time Scale) Teachers at the time of applying for SPECIAL TET FOR INSERVICE TEACHERS – AUGUST – 2026shall be having the minimum qualifications prescribed for Paper – I for Classes I to V (Regular Schools), Paper-II for classes VI to VIII (Regular Schools) as given below.
Qualifications:
- All In-service (Regular and appointed on Minimum Time Scale) Teachers working in Government / Local Body / APREIS / Government Welfare Societies Residential / AP Model Schools / Aided /Teachers working in other Government departments only are permitted to appear for Special APTET-August, 2026.

Structure and Content of Special TET for In-Service Teachers – August 2026:
The structure and content of the Special TET for In-service Teachers is as follows:
- All questions shall be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer shall be correct. There shall be no negative marking.
- There shall be Two Papers for the Special TET for In-service Teachers. Paper-I shall be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes I to V. Paper-II shall be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes VI to VIII
- SGT candidates who have both D.El.Ed and B.Ed qualifications are eligible for Paper-I and Paper-II

- How to choose language–I of APTET Paper-I : The following languages are offered under First Language in the Schools under the State Syllabus viz., Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Odiya., A candidate has to choose one of these six (6) languages under Language-I for APTET, those candidates shall have compulsorily studied that language either as medium of study or as First Language(or its equivalent)up to class X (or)as Second Language in Intermediate or concerned language as a subject at Graduation level and methodology in D.El.Ed is eligible for Paper-1A in concerned medium.
- English is compulsory language for all candidates as Language-II
- No candidate is allowed to opt English as optional Language as Language-I
- The syllabus for Language-I and Language-II prepared in order to test the Proficiency in the language, Elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities for 30 MCQs under Language- I and Language- II. 24 MCQs on content and 6 MCQs on Pedagogy of that Language.
- The syllabus for Mathematics & Environmental Studies is designed on the basis of topics of Classes III to VIII. The difficulty standard as well as linkages of content/topics could be up to Secondary Stage (up to Class X) for testing. The Test Items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies shall contain 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each, both on Content and Pedagogy. In Mathematics, 24 MCQs on Content and 6 MCQs on Pedagogy. Similarly, in Environmental Studies 24 MCQs on Content and 6 MCQs on Pedagogy.
- The detailed syllabus for all subjects shall be designed by the SCERT(State Academic Authority) and the same shall be issued along with the Notification. Candidates are informed to follow Present (Academic Year 2025 - 2026) State Syllabus Textbooks of Class III to X. The candidates have to follow 2014 to 2025 editions of D.Ed / D.El.Ed Telugu Academy textbooks and 2019 editions of SCERT, D.El.Ed textbooks.
Note: Syllabus from Classes III to VIII and Standards Linkage Up to class X level. Questions shall be tested on critical thinking, creative thinking, and analytical thinking abilities of the candidates.

Candidate has to choose one of these seven (7) languages under Language-I (Optional) of APTET Paper-II. Those candidates shall have compulsorily studied that Language either as medium of study or First Language (or its equivalent) up to class X (or) second language in Intermediate or concerned language as a subject at Graduation level are eligible for Paper-II in concerned medium.
- Note: All School assistant Language teachers except English Language teachers shall opt their concerned subject as first language only.
- English is compulsory language for all candidates as Language-II.
- No candidate is allowed to opt English as optional Language as Language -I.
- The syllabus for Language I & II for Paper-II shall be based on proficiency in the Language, Elements of Language, Communication and Comprehension Standard of test items are from VI to Senior Secondary Level (Intermediate) –XII Class level.
- 30 MCQs for Language -I and 30 MCQs for Language- II will be given on content only.
- The syllabus for APTET of concerned Paper-II are based on topics of Classes VI to X. The difficulty level and standard of questions as well as their linkages could be up to Senior Secondary(Intermediate) Level (XII class). Candidates shall follow Present (2025-26) State Syllabus Textbooks of Class VI to X. The candidates shall follow 2014 to 2025 editions of D.Ed / D.El.Ed / B.Ed Telugu Academy Text books and 2019 editions of D.El.Ed - SCERT Textbooks.
Note: Syllabus from Classes VI to X and standards linkage up to Intermediate level. Questions shall be tested Conceptual understanding, critical thinking, creative thinking, and analytical thinking abilities of the candidates.
Syllabus: Detailed syllabus for Paper-I and Paper-II for each subject shall be notified on official website http://cse.ap.gov.in.The syllabus mentioned in the official website is suggestive but not exhaustive.
Medium of Question Paper: The Question Paper shall be bilingual (i.e.,) English followed by the Language-I chosen by the candidates.
Note:
- For the candidates choosing Sanskrit in Paper-II, Child Development and Pedagogy (CDP) is in Telugu followed by Sanskrit. Language-II in English (compulsory). Language -I and the remaining part of the question paper shall be in Sanskrit.
- There is no option for Hindi/Sanskrit medium for Non language

- Differently abled (Visually, Orthopedically, Hearing Impaired and Autism) candidates with at least 40% of disability shall be considered as disabled except Hearing Impairment. Hearing Impairment means (a) Deaf means person having 70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears (b) Hard of Hearing means person having 60 DB to 70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears (GO.MS.No:36, Dept for Woman, Children, Differently Abled & Senior citizens (Prog.ii) Dt: 23-08-2023.).
- The Certificate shall contain the Name and Address of the Candidate, Registration No., Year/ Month of Award of Certificate, Marks obtained in each Paper, Class level of its validity (Class I to V (or) Class VI to VIII) and in case of Classes VIto VIII the Subject Area (Languages/ Mathematics, Physical Science, Biological Science/ Social Studies) etc., The Certificate may be electronically generated with adequate security features to avoid any kind of malpratice.
- The Joint Director, TET and Member Convener, Andhra Pradesh shall issue Memo/ Pass Certificate in Digital Format to the candidates. Certificates shall be also be made available in Digi Locker from publishing of APTET results.
Certificate Validity Period/ Marks Memo: The Marks Memo/Certificate of Special TET for In Service Teachers – August 2026 Examination shall be made available on APTET website only. There is no restriction on the number of attempts and a person can take attend any number of times for acquiring APTET Certificate. The APTET certificate shall be valid for life time in accordance with NCTE guidelines dated: 09.06.2021 as amended by the Government in G.O.Ms.No.69, Dated: 25.10.2021.
Note: The Special TET for In Service Teachers – August 2026 Examination certificate shall remain valid for life time unless otherwise modified by future NCTE guidelines.

The candidates shall at first download the ‘Information Bulletin’ (free of cost) from the APTET website http://cse.ap.gov.in, go through it carefully and satisfy their eligibility for appearing for Special TET for In Service Teachers – August 2026 Examination.

Initial steps to be followed before filling Online Application
- Go to http://cse.ap.gov.in
- Click on “Apply Online” / “Application Link”: On the homepage you’ll find the link when the application window is open.
- Click on the new register dialogue box.
- Provide basic details (i.e., Name, father/mother’s name, DOB, Aadhaar number, email ID, mobile number, gender, category, address etc.,).
- At the field ‘Attach your latest photograph' Click on Browse button and attach your photograph and your signature stored on the local
- Press Upload and Tick the declaration and enter the verification code.
- Confirm the next dialogue box and create login credentials (user-ID / password).
- Enter your Journal Number and login to application form and fill the educational qualifications.
- After filling all the details press PREVIEW This will display the details submitted by you.
- Choose the paper(s) you’re applying for.
- Fill the application form as per the instructions given in the User Guide and Information Bulletin and those offered while filling the Online Application Form.
- If you find all the details correct press SUBMIT otherwise press EDIT and resubmit the information.
- Pay the required application fee (e.g., for each paper) and complete the application.
- On completion of submission, the candidates shall take a printout of the application and store it for future use. Candidates should not post the printout of the application to APTET office.
Fee Particulars: The fee towards submission of application online and for the conduct of Computer Based TET examination is Rs.1000.00/-. for each Paper. If the candidate desires to appear for all papers he/she has to pay an amount of Rs.1000.00/ for each paper separately. Candidates shall pay the fee through payment Gateway between 25.08.2026 to 24.09.2026 and submit online application at the APTET websitehttp://cse.ap.gov.in between 25.08.2026 to 24.09.2026.
PROCESS FOR CONDUCT OF COMPUTER BASED TEST (CBT):
In order to bring in utmost transparency and accuracy in the conduct of examinations, it is decided to conduct APTET examination in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The Computer Based Test involves registration of candidates and application processing, identification of Test centres, Test centres management, generation of hall tickets, awareness to the Candidate about CBT by means of conduct of mock tests. The examination management includes digitalization and secured transfer of the question paper to the Test centres, conduct of test, processing of scores and generation of score cards as per the Government Orders.
PROCESS INVOLVED IN COMPUTER BASED TEST (CBT):
- The agency identified by the Commissioner / Director of School Education shall design, develop and host the web based secured application form for Department and accept applications.
- Integration with Payment Gateway for online fee payment.
- Test Centres should be identified by the agency and must meet rigorous compliance requirements. The Test centres should also be completely secured & sanitized to prevent any malpractices.
- Standard Test centres used for prestigious nationwide competitive exams like IIT JEE Main, IIT GATE, IIM CAT, RRB, IBPS, etc., should be utilized for APTET Examination.
- The Computer Based Test shall be conducted in all the districts. A candidate shall appear for the Written Test (Computer Based Test) in the district in which he/she seeks (or) in adjacent districts within the State (or) adjacent district of neighboring States as far as possible.
- The Commissioner / Director of School Education shall issue detailed instructions to ensure proper conduct of APTET.
- The candidates who are found copying or resorting to other means of malpractice, shall be expelled from the examination hall apart from being debarred from appearing for the examinations conducted by the Department for three consecutive examinations, besides taking action as per the Andhra Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Malpractices and Unfair means) Act, 1997 (No. 25 of 1997).
- Disciplinary action shall be initiated against such staff who are found negligent in the discharge of their duties and an entry shall be made accordingly in the Service Register of the concerned staff, besides taking action as per the Andhra Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Malpractices and unfair means) Act, 1997 (No. 25 of1997).
- The Computer Based Test (CBT) shall be in English followed by the medium opted by the candidate.
- One Gazetted Officer of School Education Department (MEO/Gazetted Head Master/Deputy DEO) may be drafted as Departmental Officer for the Test centres to assist the Technical persons.
CONSTITUTION OF EXAMINATION CENTRES FOR SPECIAL TET FOR INSERVICE TEACHERS – AUGUST 2026:
- The identification of Examination centers and confirmation of Examination centers is the sole responsibility of the Agency which is entrusted to conduct A.P. Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) as Computer Based Test.
- Each Centre should be equipped with good accommodation, furniture and computer Each Centre shall have a capacity to accommodate 300-500 candidates in a single session.
- The Centers in the District shall be identified preferably in District Head Quarters, Municipalities, Revenue division and Mandals.
- Where required, based on number of applicants, particular category of post and subject, centers may be identified in the adjacent district of neighbouring States.
- Institutions having spacious and sufficient number of rooms and computer infrastructure are to be constituted as Examination centers. Institutions proposed to be constituted as Examination centers shall be inspected by District Educational Officer of the concerned District The number of rooms available in each center and number of candidates to be accommodated in each room, shall be ascertained before allotting the candidates to any of the Examination Centers.
Hall Tickets: Candidates can download their Hall Tickets from the official website at http://cse.ap.gov.in from 05.10.2026 onwards. In case of any candidate could not download the Hall ticket he/ she should contact the Office of the Director/Commissioner of School Education, Mangalagiri, Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh between 10.00 AM to 5.30 PM on all working hours in person by giving details of the Journal Number of the fee paid, reference number of the application submitted, a copy of the printout of the Application form and one photograph (same photograph as pasted on the application form).Request for issue of duplicate Hall Ticket will not be entertained after the examination in any case.
OBJECTIONS ON KEY:
- The Subject expert committee constituted by SCERT (The State Academic Authority) is the final authority to redress the objections on the initial key.
- No objections shall be entertained on the final key.

Legal Jurisdiction:
All legal disputes with regard to the conduct of TET shall be subject to the Jurisdiction of the Courts located in the State of Andhra Pradesh only.
