Empowering Primary Education: AP Samagra Shiksha Launches Intensive FLN Training for District Resource Persons
The School Education Department of Andhra Pradesh is taking a major step toward transforming primary education. Under the banner of Samagra Shiksha, Andhra Pradesh, an intensive capacity-building training programme is launching for District Resource Persons (DRPs) to strengthen the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Mission across the state.
Led by Sri B. Srinivasa Rao, I.A.S., State Project Director, this initiative aligns with the core vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the national NIPUN Bharat Guidelines. The ultimate goal? Ensuring every child builds a rock-solid foundation in reading, writing, and basic mathematics by the end of Grade 3.
Why Focus on Foundational Literacy & Numeracy (FLN)?
The early years of schooling are the most critical stage in a child's learning journey. To pave the way for future academic success, the department is prioritizing:
-
Activity-based pedagogy and child-centered learning practices.
-
Stronger classroom transactions and competency-based assessments.
-
Effective remedial support at the primary school level.
Because primary school teachers play a pivotal role in shaping these early learning outcomes, this initiative focuses on equipping them with modern pedagogical strategies and innovative teaching methodologies through a structured, cascade-based training model.
