Andhra Pradesh Finance Department issued G.O.Ms.No.156 on 2 November 2026, distributing cadre strength and working strength for the remaining categories of posts under the Directorate of School Education. The earlier G.O.Ms.No.130 covered District Educational Officer (direct recruitment) posts. Which posts are in the departmental pool?
Paragraph 11 places 30 Gazetted Headmaster/Headmistress Grade II posts and 2,613 Secondary Grade Teacher (Telugu) posts in the Head of Department pool. The order allows allocation according to administrative need across the six zones for headmasters and the 26 districts or contiguous districts for SGTs. It also provides for allocation to the Head of Department and field offices.
How allotment affects employees on deputation
Under paragraph 14, employees on deputation or foreign service give their options and receive orders of allotment. They continue at their present place of work on the existing terms. For employees working against regular posts who are allotted to a different local cadre, the appointing authority issues transfer orders, subject to that exception.

Frequently asked questions
Where can a School Assistant find district and management figures?
Start with Annexure II on pages 9–36 for district figures. For the teaching categories covered by Annexure IIA, turn to pages 69–95, find your district and subject, then read the cadre and working strength columns under your management.
Which annexure covers Grade II headmasters by zone?
Annexure IVA on page 96 gives the management-wise breakdown for Gazetted Headmasters and Headmistresses Grade II. Across the six zones, it records a cadre strength of 5,426 and a working strength of 4,603.
Why can working strength exceed cadre strength?
For allotment, the order counts employees on deputation, leave, training or suspension. It also counts employees on foreign service for this limited purpose. Subtracting working strength from cadre strength does not establish recruitment vacancies.
