AP Student Legislative Assembly 2026: The Director of School Education, Andhra Pradesh, has issued proceedings for conducting a State-level Student Legislative Assembly / Mock Assembly on 26 November 2026, on the occasion of Constitution Day. Three-Tier Student Selection Process
1. School-Level Selection
- Conduct essay writing and elocution competitions separately.
- Select the best three students in essay writing and the best three in elocution for the quiz. The proceedings state that one girl student is mandatory at this shortlisting step.
- Conduct the quiz for the shortlisted students using the prescribed school-level topics.
- Select the best three quiz performers to represent the school at mandal level.
2. Mandal-Level Selection
- The three selected students from each participating school compete at mandal level.

- The best three essay writers and best three elocution participants qualify for a quiz using a fresh question set.
- The best three quiz performers proceed to the Assembly constituency level.
3. Assembly Constituency-Level Selection
- The three selected students from each participating mandal represent their mandal.
- Conduct essay writing and elocution again using the prescribed constituency-level topics.
- The best three students in each competition qualify for the quiz using a fresh constituency-level question set.
- Select the three best-performing quiz participants from each Assembly constituency.
- Send their details and academic performance to the State committee for final selection.

State-Level Orientation, Training and Rehearsals
Finally selected students will receive background material, issue briefs, questions and other preparatory resources for the State-level Mock Assembly. Training will emphasise understanding, spontaneous participation, reasoning and confidence rather than mere memorisation of speeches.
The tentative plan provides for district orientation on 21 November, role-based training and rehearsals on 24–25 November, and a final dress rehearsal before the State event.
Instructions to Education Authorities
All Regional Joint Directors of School Education, District Educational Officers and DIET Principals have been requested to take necessary action for implementing the programme in coordination with the Director, SCERT, and other concerned authorities.
