AP SMC Election process begins with issue of notification on 15 September 2026. The voter list process will be completed before the main election scheduled on 29 September 2026.

📘 AP SMC Elections 2026-27 – Important New Rules

👨‍👩‍👧 75% Parents / Guardians 75% of the total School Management Committee membership shall consist of parents or guardians.

👩 Minimum 50% Women At least 50% of the total SMC members shall be women.

✓ 50% Election Quorum At least 50% of eligible parents/guardians of enrolled children should be present for the election process.

👤 One Parent / Guardian One person among Mother / Father / Guardian recorded in the school record shall participate on behalf of an enrolled child.

🤝 Inclusive Representation Appropriate representation of SEDGs and parents/guardians of Children with Special Needs should be ensured.

🗳 Democratic & Transparent Process The election process should be democratic, transparent and inclusive. Secret ballot may be used in case of unresolved dispute/contention.

SMC మొత్తం సభ్యులలో 75% తల్లిదండ్రులు / సంరక్షకులు ఉండాలి. మొత్తం సభ్యులలో కనీసం 50% మహిళలు ఉండాలి. ఎన్నికల సమయంలో eligible parents / guardiansలో కనీసం 50% హాజరు అవసరం. ఎన్నికలు పారదర్శకంగా, ప్రజాస్వామ్యబద్ధంగా మరియు సమగ్రంగా నిర్వహించాలి.

👥 SMC Composition & Committee Strength 2026

Under the 2026 guidelines, 75% of the SMC members are parents/guardians. The remaining 25% broadly provides representation to Local Authority elected members, teachers/school-side representation and educationists/experts/academicians or other permitted community representatives.

While constituting the SMC, the prescribed women representation, SEDG representation, CwSN parent/guardian representation and appropriate class/grade representation should be verified.

📝 AP SMC Voter List 2026 – Preparation

The AP SMC Elections 2026 Voter List should be prepared from the records of enrolled students. The draft voter list should first be displayed, objections should be received and resolved, and only then should the Final Voter List be prepared for Election Day.

Verify active students and relevant Admission / School Records.

Prepare and display the Draft Voter List on 18-09-2026 at 2:00 PM.

Receive and resolve objections on 25-09-2026 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Finalize and display the Final Voter List on 25-09-2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
