Candidates must go through the eligibility requirement before completing the online application form for Animal Husbandry Diploma admission 2026-27.

 

Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati offering 2 year Diploma course in Animal Husbandry Polytechnic to encourage the youngsters particularly from rural area, who are stopping their studies after 10th standard along with U.G (B.V.Sc. & A.H, and B.Tech Dairy Technology) and P.G. (MVSc. and M.Tech Dairy Technology) and PhD programmes in the State of Andhra Pradesh. There is a need for trained personnel in the sectors of Animal Husbandry for village development programmes. Keeping in view of this requirement the first Animal Husbandry Polytechnic was established at Palamaner, Chittoor District during 1999-2000. Subsequently many polytechnics were established looking in to the demand. Currently there is a huge demand for Animal Husbandry Diploma holders in RBKs in addition to AH Department and Private Sector. At present, there are 10 Government Animal Husbandry Polytechnics and 12 Affiliated Animal Husbandry Polytechnics under Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati across Andhra Pradesh.

ELIGIBILITY:

 

The students who have completed 10th class or equivalent exams are only eligible to apply for the Diploma in Animal Husbandry.

 

PROCEDURE OF SELECTION:

• The students are selected for the Diploma course based on the aggregate of marks (or) overall grade point of the students obtained in 10th standard or any other equivalent examination.
• In any case 2 or more students attain same aggregate of marks (or) overall grade point average and marks in Science subject are taken into consideration while preparing the merit list.
• In any case 2 or more students attain same aggregate of marks (or) overall grade point average and same equal marks in Science subject, then the marks in Mathematics shall be taken into consideration while preparing the merit list.
• In any case 2 or more students attain same aggregate of marks (or) overall grade point average same marks in Science & Mathematics, then the marks in Social studies shall be taken into consideration while preparing the merit list.
• If any case 2 or more students attain same aggregate of marks (or) overall grade point average and same marks in Science, Mathematics and Social studies, then the candidate with higher date of birth (Higher age) will be considered while making the merit list.

Note: ICSE students need to enter average of three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) for science and two subjects (History & Civics and Geography) for social.

AGE :

 

The candidates applying for the Animal Husbandry Diploma course should be between 15 and 22 years as on 31-08-2026 (Born between 01-09-2004 to 31-08-2011).

 

RESERVATION SYSTEM:

 

Reservation of seats for the candidates coming from rural area:

 

Seventy five percent (75%) of the seats in diploma course are reserved for the candidates who have studied for a minimum of 4 years in schools located in Non-Municipal areas and twenty five percent (25%) of seats are reserved for the candidates who have studied in Municipal area. The students who have studied a minimum of 4 years from Non Municipal area (Rural) out of their 10 years of study (1st Class – 10th Class) are eligible for admission under rural area. For which the student is advised to fill up the Form-I duly signed by the Head Master of the concerned school where he/ she has studied. In case, if the student has studied in one or more schools he/she has to enclose Form-I from each school.

• FORM-I: It is a proforma to be certified by the Headmaster of the school with his office seal that the candidate has studied for a minimum period of four years in the school located in Non-Municipal area during their period of study from 1st class to 10th class (Non-Municipal Area Certificate).
• If FORM – I is not filed in or duly signed by the concerned Head of the Institution or Officer along with office seal, the claim of the candidates will be rejected and will be considered under Municipal area (Urban).

 Rule of reservation will be followed as per the rules:

1. 29% seats are allocated to Backward class (BC) candidates. BC-A: 7%, BC-B:10%, BC-C:1%, BC-D:7% and BC-E:4%.
2. 15% seats are allocated to Scheduled cast (SC) Candidates. Group I: 1%, Group II: 6.5%, Group III: 7.5%.
3. 6% seats are allocated to Scheduled Tribe (ST)
4. 33.1/3 % seats are allocated to Girls /Women.
5. 5% seats are allocated to Physically Challenged /Differently Able Candidates.
6. 2% seats are allocated to Children of Armed Personnel (CAP).
7. 1% seats are allocated to National Cadet Cops (NCC).
8. 0.5% seats are allocated to Sports Quota.
9. 0.5% seats are allocated to Scots and Guides quota
10. 10 % supernumerary seats shall be made available to EWS

NATIVITY / RESIDENTIAL CERTIFICATE:

 

Applicants who have gap / break during the study period for reasons other than failure or those who passed the qualifying examination by private study have to submit Nativity Certificate issued by the Tahsildar. In case, the applicant has resided in more than one place, a separate certificate from the respective Tahsildars should be furnished for such places of residence.

 

FEE:

 

General Category and Backward Caste Category students have to pay Rs.1,100/- per application. While the SC/ST & P.H. Candidates have to pay Rs.550/- per application. The application fee can be paid through Debit Card / Credit Card (or) Net banking.

 

Once payment is made, it cannot be refunded under any circumstances, hence, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfils the specified eligibility criteria before submitting the online application for counseling.

 

DURATION OF COURSE:

 

The Animal Husbandry Diploma course is for 2 years. Each year consists of 2 semesters i.e., 4 Semesters in 2 years. Study programme includes Course work during first 3 semesters and Work Experience Programme during 4th semester.

1. If the admitted candidate cancels his / her seat before the closure of admissions for the Academic Year 2026-27 an amount of Rs.1,720/- under general quota and BC and Rs.860/- under SC/ST/PH quota shall be collected as processing fee. The remaining fees already paid during admission shall be refunded.
2. If the admitted candidate cancels his / her seat after closure of admission process for the Academic Year 2026-27 the candidate has to forfeit the fees already paid and in addition, he/she has to pay processing of Rs.1,720/- under general quota and BC and Rs.860/- under SC/ST/PH quota.
3. After completion/closing of admission process, request for change of Animal Husbandry polytechnic is not permissible under any circumstances.
   

HOSTEL FACILITY:

Hostel facility is available separately for both boys and Girls in all the polytechnics of SVVU. If a student wants to stay outside, he has to obtain prior permission from the concerned Principal of the Polytechnic.

ELIGIBILITY FOR OTHER DEGREE PROGRAMMES:

• As per G.O.Rt.No.17, Dt.10-02-2021, Government of A.P., permission has been accorded to the Universities, Colleges and Institutes etc., to admit 2 year Diploma holders awarded by SVVU into B.Sc. Biology stream programmes / combinations and other relevant disciplines as wellas B.Com and B.A. without Mathematics and Statistics subjects.

• The candidates completing the Diploma in Animal Husbandry course are not eligible for B.V.Sc., & A.H course admissions.

Hence, the Candidates areinformed to mention their personal mobile numbers but not the mobile numbers of relatives, friends, net / online / Xerox centers etc. Once submitted, the mobile number cannot be changed.
• Applicants should exercise web option through online at specified dates for choosing their preference of AH Polytechnic. SMS alert shall be sent to registered mobile number for this
• Candidates are informed that mere submission of an online application and attending for counseling does not guarantee seat allotment.
• Candidate should submit all the Certificates in Original and pay the prescribed fees at the time of admission in the allotted AH Polytechnic within in the due date.
• The certificates of the candidates under special categories (PH, CAP, NCC, SPORTS and SCOUTS & GUIDES) shall be verified by the authorities concerned. The university will not interfere in the process of preparation of priority / merit The University allots seats to the candidates based on the priorities indicated by the competent authorities.
• In case, the information furnished or the certificates uploaded by the candidates are found to be false, the university will take appropriate action against the individuals concerned and his/her application will be summarily rejected.
