APRCET 2024-25 Notification, Apply Online Andhra Pradesh Research Common Entrance Test 2024-25 (APRCET 2024-25) for admission into Ph.D Programmes (Both Full- time and Part-time) offered by the Universities and Research Centres in the state of Andhra Pradesh for the academic year 2024-25 will be conducted tentatively in the month of October 2025. The eligible candidates are informed to submit their applications through online mode only from 07.10.2025 by paying the application registration and processing fee, through Online Payment gateway. The detailed information regarding Examination dates, Eligibility, Syllabus and Model Question Papers, Mock Test, Fee details, Instructions and Procedure for Online Submission of Applications are available on the website https://cets.apsche.ap.gov.in


The eligible candidates are informed to submit their applications through online mode only from 07.10.2025 by paying the application registration and processing fee through AP Online Payment gateway (Credit Card/Debit Card and Net Banking). The detailed information regarding eligibility, syllabus, Mock test, fee related instructions and procedure for Online Submission of Applications are available on the website https://sche.ap.gov.in/rcet.


On behalf of the APSCHE, Sri Venkateswara University. Tirupati invites applications from the eligible. candidates for admission into Ph.D. programme (Full-Time/Part-Time) offered by various universities. and recognized research centres in the state of Andhra Pradesh in the subject areas indicated in Annexure-I through Andhra Pradesh Research Common Entrance Test APRCET 2024-25, for the academic year 2024-25.


Candidates are advised to go through the Information Brochure carefully and apply for admission under appropriate category of reservation by ticking in the relevant box in the application form. Requests for inclusion or change of reservation category once claimed will not be entertained under any circumstances. The final admission will be subjected to the availability of the vacancies and validity of the information submitted by the candidate.


APRCET 2024-25 is a computer based test. The test shall be in multiple choice questions. Each question carries one mark. There shall not be any negative marks.

a. The Candidates with PG in respective subject have to write Section A (Research Methodology for 70 marks) and Section-B (respective subject for 70 Marks) of the APRCET 2024-25.

b. To qualify for interview, candidates should have to secure minimum 50% marks for OC candidates and 45% marks for BC/SC/ST/PWD in APRCET 2024-25.

c. After qualifying in APRCET 2024-25 for interview, candidate have to attend an interview for 60 marks.

d. Rank in APRCET will be based on the total marks obtained by candidate in the written test and interview.


In APRCET 2024-25, Part-A for all the subjects including languages is in English only and the Part B of the subjects except languages are in English. For Languages, Part B is in the respective language.


The P.G. Degrees of all the UGC recognized Universities in India will be treated as equivalent to P.G. Degrees of all Universities of A.P. However, PG Degrees obtained through distance mode from Universities recognized by DEC only will be considered.


Candidates who are waiting for the final semester/Year result of the qualifying degree can also apply for APRCET 2024-25. But such candidates shall be considered for admission only if they submit PG degree certificate at the time of interview.


Mere appearance at the APRCET 2024-25 and attending interview by a candidate, does not confer any right of admission into Ph.D. programme. The candidate has to fulfil the eligibility criteria laid down in the relevant GO at the time of admission.


The tentative vacancy position of the seats in various universities and its research centres affiliated colleges is available in the APRCET 2024- 25 web portal. However, eligibility criterion for admission. into various Ph.D. programmes will vary from university to university.


The universities reserve the right to fill or not to fill the seats announced for any subject/programme.


Payments made towards registration fee/Late fee/Processing fee are non-refundable.


Candidates admitted into Ph.D. programme by furnishing false information are liable for prosecution and cancellation of seats without any prior notice. The decision of the respective University is final.


The test will be conducted in 13 centres across the state of Andhra Pradesh and one centre in Hyderabad.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR APPEARING APRCET 2024-25:


Ph.D. can be pursued by candidates possessing the minimum qualifications as specified below either on Full-Time (FT)/ Part-Time (PT) basis in the Faculties of Science, Arts, Humanities, Social Science, Fine Arts, Education, Physical Education, Commerce and Management Studies, Engineering and Technology, Architecture & Planning, Law and Pharmaceutical Sciences etc., Admissions into Ph. D. programme will be made within the framework of reservation rules in force prescribed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh from time to time. The details of faculty/specialization wise eligibility criteria will be notified in details along with the APRCET notification.


The APRCET Committee may include, combine, separate, or drop any of the disciplines as may be deemed necessary with proper reasoning.


Full-Time (FT):

a) Candidates for admission to Ph.D. programme shall have a Master's Degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master's degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-Point scale (or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational established or incorporated under a law in its home. country or any other state or in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.

b) A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/BC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the University Grants Commission from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master's degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade on a point scale where grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grave mark procedures.


Part-time (PT):

Candidate satisfying the eligibility conditions noted above can be admitted as Part- Time candidate through an entrance test, as per the following order of priority. Admission into Part-Time category will be made on the basis of service seniority in the respective categories.

1. Regular Faculty working in the University or to the P.G. Centers.

2. (a) Faculty working in Post Graduate and Professional colleges having completed at least two years of service. This provision is not applicable to Faculty teaching

Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Humanities in professional colleges.

OR

b) Faculty/ Librarians/Assistant Librarians working in affiliated degree / PG colleges and Faculty teaching Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Humanities in professional colleges having completed at least two years of service.

OR

(c) Faculty working in Polytechnic/Government or private aided junior Colleges/Schools having completed at least four years of service.

Candidates satisfying the following requirements shall be eligible to appear for APRCET:

A. Candidate should be of Indian Nationality or persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders.

B. Candidates should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh. The candidate should satisfy local/ Non-local status requirements laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.

C. Ph.D can be pursued by candidates possessing the minimum qualifications as specified below either on Full-Time (FT) or Part-Time (PT) basis in the faculties of Sciences, Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Fine Arts, Education, Physical Education, Commerce and Management studies, Engineering & Technology, Architecture & Planning, Law, Pharmaceutical Sciences etc., Admissions into Ph.D programs will be made within the framework of reservation rules in force prescribed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh from time to time.

D. Candidates for admission into Ph.D programmes shall have a Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master's degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body with at least 55% marks in the aggregate or its equivalent grade "B' in the UGC-7 point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale where grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any statutory in that country for the Purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.

E. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/BC/PWD and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the University Grants Commission from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master's degree prior to 19th September, 1991. F. Ph.D. discipline and eligibility in respect of qualifying P.G. Degree shall be clearly notified by The APRCET Convener

APRCET 2024 Application Fee: The candidate can apply for at most two subjects only in the APRCET-2024. Application fee per subject per candidate is Rs. 1500/- for OC, Rs.1300/- for BC and Rs. 1000/- for SC/ST/PWD. No correction in the subject(s) will be permitted after submitting the Application. Part-Time candidates have to upload their service certificate(s) in support of their claim.


APRCET 2024-25 Age limit: There is no age limit.

Any dispute pertaining to APRCET-2024 shall be within the Jurisdiction of High Court of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati only.

HOW TO APPLY APRCET 2024-25:
  • Applications should be submitted through online only.
  • For online submission, visit the website: https://cets.apsche.ap.gov.in/rcet.
  • Candidate has to pay Rs. 1500/- for OC, Rs. 1300/- for BC and Rs. 1000/- for SC/ST/PWD per subject. Bank Charges are extra.
  • After filling the online Application form with all the required details, verify all the details carefully and press ‘Submit’ button. After submitting the online application form, take the print out of filled in ‘Online Application Form’. Use the application number printed on the online application form for all future correspondences.
  • The Candidates who seek admission into Ph.D programme have to write the online examination in the following subjects which are shown below:
