The attention of the District Educational Officers and Additional Project Coordinators in the state is invited in the references read above and they are informed that the School Innovation Marathon (SIM) – 2025 has been officially launched on 28.07. 2025 by the Secretary, DoSE&L, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.
This annual innovation challenge is jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, Innovation Cell (MIC), AICTE, and UNICEF. Students from both ATL and non-ATL schools are encouraged to identify community-based problems and propose innovative solutions through working prototypes.
On the eve of the 5th anniversary of the National Education policy (NEP) 2020, the School Innovation Marathon of 2025 was launched on 28.07.2025 by the Secretary, DoSEL, Ministry of Education.
School Innovation Marathon-Theme for 2025: “Young Minds of Amrit Kaal”
Students will work on real-life problem statements under defined themes and submit their prototype videos online. Top-performing teams will receive:
- Funding support from MoE.
- Internship opportunities through the Student Innovator Program with corporates and incubators
- National recognition for their innovations
SIM–2024 Participation Highlights from AP:
- 61027 students constituted 21,625 teams have submitted 8,748 ideas from 5443 schools.
- Second highest participation in the country
- 76 project ideas from AP were among the national Top 1000 ideas.
- Selected teams are undergoing mentorship and will advance to the Student Entrepreneurship Program with Dassault Systems.

Instructions to Schools:
- All Headmasters/Principals of Government, Aided, Private, KGBVs, and Model Schools to register and actively participate in SIM–2025.
- Schools with ATLs and Non-ATL schools are mandated to participate.
- A teacher from each school should be nominated as the SIM Coordinator.
- There is no restriction on the number of teams per school.
Instructions to AMOs, DSOs, MEO-I & MEO-II :
- Organize orientation programs for school heads, SIM coordinators, and teachers at the mandal and district levels.
- Ensure continuous monitoring and support to schools for project development and timely submission.
- Motivate schools to ensure maximum participation from students with quality ideas.
The SIM is a fully online platform, and all submissions must follow the guidelines shared by MoE. The Themes for SIM- 2025, Participation guidelines and link is attached in Annexure-I.

In view of the above all the Regional Joint Directors, District Educational Officers and Additional Project Coordinators in the state are requested to issue instructions to all the schools to register and participate in the School Innovation Marathon-2025. All the AMOs, DSOs and MEOs to organize orientation programs for school heads, SIM coordinators to ensure wide dissemination and mobilization for maximum participation.

About School Innovation Marathon (SIM)
School Innovation Marathon is envisioned as India’s largest school innovation challenge organised jointly by the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), Ministry of Education, Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) NITI Aayog, Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) and UNICEF, where students from all schools of the country identify community problems of their choice and develop innovative solutions in the form of working prototypes. The Top Teams of School Innovation Marathon will get funding support from the Ministry of Education, internship opportunities through the Student Innovator Program with leading corporates and Incubation Centres, and other recognitions.
