Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati offers U.G (B.V.Sc.&A.H, and B.Tech Dairy Technology) and P.G. (MVSc. and M.Tech Dairy Technology) and PhD programmes in the State of Andhra Pradesh. To encourage the youngsters particularly from rural area, who are stopping their studies after 10th standard, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has started 2 year Diploma courses in Animal Husbandry Polytechnic. There is a need for trained personnel in the sectors of Animal Husbandry for village development programmes. Keeping in view of this requirement the first Animal Husbandry Polytechnic was established at Palamaner, Chittoor District during 1999-2000 Academic year. Subsequently many polytechnics were established looking in to the demand. Currently there is a huge demand for Animal Husbandry Diploma holders in RBKs in addition to AH Department and Private Sector. At present, there are 10 Government Animal Husbandry Polytechnics and 12 Affiliated Animal Husbandry Polytechnics under Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati across Andhra Pradesh.

AH Polytechnic 2023 ELIGIBILITY:
- The students who have completed 10th class or equivalent exams are only eligible to apply for the Diploma in Animal Husbandry. The students who have completed intermediate or any other higher studies are not eligible to apply.
- The students belonging to General Category and BC should have a minimum of 60% of marks or corresponding grade point average in 10th class.
- The students belonging to SC/ST & PH category should have a minimum of 50% of marks or corresponding grade point average in 10th class.
- The students who are studying intermediate 1st year and II year are requested to bring a Custodian Certificate from the respective college Principals stating that all the original certificates of the student are present under the college control.
AH Polytechnic 2023 PROCEDURE OF SELECTION:
- The students are selected for the Diploma course based on the aggregate of marks (or) overall grade point of the students obtained in 10th standard or any other equivalent examination.
- In any case 2 or more students attain same aggregate of marks (or) overall grade point average and marks in Science subject are taken into consideration while preparing the merit list.
- In any case 2 or more students attain same aggregate of marks (or) overall grade point average and same equal marks in Science subject, then the marks in Mathematics shall be taken into consideration while preparing the merit list.
- In any case 2 or more attain same aggregate of marks (or) overall grade point average same marks in Science & Mathematics, then the marks in Social studies shall be taken into consideration while preparing the merit list.
- If any case 2 or more students attain same aggregate of marks (or) overall grade point average and same marks in science, Mathematics and Social studies, then the candidate with higher date of birth (Higher age) will be considered while making the merit list.
- Note: ICSE students need to enter average of three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) for science and two subjects (History & Civics; Geography) for social.
AH Polytechnic 2023 AGE :
The candidates applying for the Animal Husbandry Diploma course should be between 15 and 22 years as on 31-08-2023 (Born between 01-09-2001 to 31-08-2008).
AH Polytechnic 2023RESERVATION SYSTEM:
Reservation of seats for the candidates coming from rural Area:
Seventy five percent (75%) of the seats in diploma course are reserved for the candidates who have studied for a minimum of 4 years in schools located in Non-Municipal areas and twenty five percent (25%) of seats are reserved for the candidates who have studied in Municipal area. The students who have studied a minimum of 4 years from Non Municipal Area (Rural) out of their 10 years of study (1st Class – 10th Class) are eligible for admission under rural area. For which the student is advised to fill up the Form-I duly signed by the Head Master of the concerned school where he/ she has studied. In case, if the student has studied in one or more schools he/she has to enclose Form-I from each school.
- FORM-I: It is a proforma to be certified by the Headmaster of the school with his office seal that the candidate has studied for a minimum period of four years in the school located in Non-Municipal area during their period of study from 1st class to 10th class (Non-Municipal Area Certificate).
- If FORM – I is not filed in or duly signed by the concerned Head of the Institution or officer along with office seal, the claim of the candidates will be rejected and will be considered under Municipal area (Urban).
Rule of reservation will be followed as per the rules:
- 29% seats are allocated to Backward class (BC) BC-A: 7%, BC-B:10%, BC-C:1%, BC-D:7% and BC-E:4%.
- 15% seats are allocated to Scheduled cast (SC)
- 6% seats are allocated to Scheduled Tribe (ST)
- 1/3 % seats are allocated to Girls /Women.
- 3% seats are allocated to Physically Challenged /Differently Able Candidates.
- 2% seats are allocated to Children of Armed Personnel (CAP).
- 1% seats are allocated to National Cadet Cops (NCC).
- 5% seats are allocated to Sports Quota.
- 10 % supernumerary seats shall be made available to EWS category.
AH Polytechnic 2023 REGION WISE RESERVATION:
15% seats shall be Un-Reserved (UR) and are allotted to candidates from both Andhra University and Sri Venkateswara University on merit basis irrespective of region and reservation category. The 85% seats shall be allocated in the ratio of 42:22 between Andhra University and Sri Venkateswara University respectively, for the candidates in relation to local area.
AH Polytechnic 2023 NATIVITY / RESIDENTIAL CERTIFICATE:
Applicants who have gap / break in the years of study for reasons other than failure or those who passed the qualifying examination by private study have to submit Nativity Certificate issued by the Tahsildar. In case, the applicant has resided in more than one place, a separate certificate from the respective Tahsildars should be furnished for such places of residence.
AH Polytechnic 2023 FEE:
General Category and Backward Caste Category students have to pay Rs.800/- per application. While the SC/ST & P.H. Candidates should pay Rs.400/- per application. The application fee can be paid through Debit Card / Credit Card (or) Net banking.
Once payment is made, it cannot be refunded under any circumstances, hence, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfils the specified eligibility criteria before submitting the online application for counseling.
AH Polytechnic 2023 DURATION OF COURSE:
The Diploma course is for 2 years. Each year consists of 2 semesters i.e., 4 Semesters in 2 years. Course work during first 3 semesters and Work Experience Programme during 4th semester will be carried out.
AH Polytechnic 2023 ELIGIBILITY FOR OTHER DEGREE PROGRAMMES:
As per G.O.Rt.No.17, Dt.10-02-2021, Government of A.P., permission has been accorded to Universities, College and Institutes etc., to admit 2 years diploma holders awarded by ANGRAU, Dr. YSR HU & SVVU into B.Sc. Biology stream programmes / combinations, Bachelor of Vocational Programmes in Agriculture and Horticulture programmes and other relevant disciplines as well as B.Com and B.A. without Mathematics and Statistics.
AH Polytechnic 2023 MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION:
The course will be dealt in English medium only.

i. If the admitted candidate cancels his / her seat before the closure of admissions for the Academic Year 2023-24 an amount of Rs.1,290/- under general quota and BC and Rs.645/- under SC/ST/PH quota shall be collected as processing fee. The remaining fees already paid during admission shall be refunded.
ii. If the admitted candidate cancels his / her seat after closure of admission process for the Academic Year 2023-24 the candidate has to forfeit the fees already paid and in addition, he/she has to pay processing of 1,290/- under general quota and BC and Rs.645/- under SC/ST/PH quota.
iii. After completion/closing of admission process, request for change of Animal Husbandry polytechnic is not permissible under any circumstances.
AH Polytechnic 2023 HOSTEL FACILITY:
Hostel facility is available separately for both boys and Girls in all the polytechnics of SVVU. If a student wants to stay outside, he has to obtain prior permission from the concerned Principal of the Polytechnic.
AH Polytechnic 2023 APPLICATION FOR ONLINE COUNSELING:
- Candidates should fill the online application carefully and check details such as local area/ municipal/ non municipal area, reservation/ special categories etc. and submit the application online.
- It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to ensure that he/she fulfills the specified eligibility before applying/ filling application form.
- No corrections will be permitted once the application form is submitted.
- Please note that University/ AH Polytechnic will NOT be held responsible for denial of admission to non-eligible candidates.
- Multiple application forms submitted by a candidate will not be accepted and will lead to the cancellation of his/her seat.
- Government decided to link the scholarship applications with the Aadhar number for affecting the cash transaction scheme. For this every student must furnish the Aadhar number vide Government memo 16035/Sw. Edn.2/2012-4 dt. 29.12.2012.
- The admissions into Animal Husbandry Diploma course in Polytechnics under SVVU and affiliated to SVVU for the academic year 2023- 24 shall be made on the basis of Web Counseling. Where in candidates can opt for any polytechnic in the order of priority and the allotment shall be made for his/her best preferred choice based on his/her merit and other admission rules in vogue.
- Candidates have to opt preferable Animal Husbandry Polytechnics (Web options) they wish to join in consultation with their parents, teachers and friends and after thorough enquiry about the polytechnics in different districts.
- The order of options is to be entered by the candidate A print out of the options entered shall be kept as record for reference.
- Candidates should download the allotment order and report at the allotted college within the prescribed time.
- The selection of candidates belonging to SC/ ST/BC/CAP/PH/ NCC/ Sports is subject to clearance to be given by the respective departments during the counseling.
- Registrar, SVVU is not responsible for the delay in clearance in respect of doubtful Caste/ CAP/PH/ NCC/ Sports cases.
- Any disputes concerned to admissions if any, shall be within the jurisdiction of the Hon’ble P. High court.

Candidates applying for the diploma course are requested to enclose the following documents.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Candidates are required to read the PROSPECTUS thoroughly before applying.
- Universities are intended to impact education to students, undertake research and extension activities. Hence, University does not guarantee any employment to the students who complete Animal Husbandry Diploma.
- The candidates completing the Animal Husbandry Diploma course are not eligible for V.Sc.,& A.H course admissions.
- All the applications shall be uploaded online with relevant documents within the due date.
- The University has right to change or cancel the admission process.
- The guidelines issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh from time to time shall be followed scrupulously including the reservations for EWS.
- The University/AP Online shall send SMS to the applicant’s registered mobile for the purposes related to Hence, the Candidates are informed to mention their personal mobile numbers but not the mobile numbers of relatives, friends, net / online / Xerox centers etc. Once submitted, the mobile number cannot be changed.
- Applicants should exercise web option through online at specified dates for choosing their preference of AH Polytechnic. SMS alert shall be sent to registered mobile number for this purpose.
- Candidates are informed that mere submission of an online application and attending for counseling does not guarantee seat allotment.
- The selected candidates for admission into Animal Husbandry Diploma course in SVVU shall have to pay prescribed fees immediately.
- Candidate should submit all the Certificates in Original at the time to admission in to allotted polytechnic.
- The certificates of the candidates under special categories (PH, CAP, NCC & SPORTS) shall be verified by the authorities concerned. The university will not interfere in the process of preparation of priority / merit lists. The University allots seats to the candidates based on the priorities indicated by the competent authorities.
- In case, the information furnished or the certificates uploaded by the candidates are found to be false, the university will take appropriate action against the individuals concerned and his/her application will be summarily rejected.
