AP Teacher Performance Indicators 2026: SCERT Implementation Guidelines

The Director of SCERT, Andhra Pradesh, issued proceedings on 11 September 2026 outlining Teacher Performance Indicators (TPIs), capacity building and review arrangements. The instructions came into force with immediate effect.

Six Teacher Performance Standards
PS 1. Designing learning experiences
Plan around learners' prior knowledge and learning outcomes; engage all learners, including first generation learners; prepare teaching learning materials and multiple assessment methods.
PS 2. Subject knowledge
Show conceptual clarity through suitable examples and address learners' errors, difficulties and misconceptions.
PS 3. Facilitating learning
Create a safe, clean and print rich classroom; use learner centered activities, discussion, exploration, ICT and suitable resources; listen to learners, use home language where needed, assess learning in different ways, maintain learning profiles and share progress with parents.
PS 4. Interpersonal relationships
Maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents and the community.
PS 5. Professional development
Update subject and ICT skills, join relevant in service programmes, undertake simple classroom action research and contribute to learning resources.
PS 6. School development
Contribute to SMC, PTM and PTA activities, school committees and assigned school responsibilities.

The proceedings describe these indicators as indicative and subject to change based on teachers' performance and implementation challenges. Capacity building modules are to be adjusted as the process continues. The order refers to the High Court order dated 18 December 2024 in W.P.(PIL) No.101 of 2023.
