The Government of Andhra Pradesh, in alignment with the objectives of NEP 2020 and the State’s commitment to strengthening Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), has introduced the Gnana Jyothi 120-Day Certificate Course (Year–II) to enhance the professional competencies of field-level functionaries working in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). The programme aims to strengthen foundational learning through structured capacity building, focusing on play-based and activity-based pedagogy, inclusive practices, and improved early learning outcomes for young children.
In this regard, funds have been released to the Women Development and Child Welfare (WD&CW) Department for organizing the Year–II Gnana Jyothi Training Programme. The training programme will be conducted by the WD&CW Department in coordination with the Department of School Education and Samagra Shiksha.
The Department of School Education and Samagra Shiksha shall depute 2037 Secondary Grade Teachers (SGTs) (three DRPs from each Mandal) to participate in the District Resource Persons (DRPs) training.
Further, the Travel Allowance (TA) payable to the DRPs for attending the training programme will be reimbursed by the Women Development and Child Welfare Department as per the approved norms.

The training programme will be organized by the Women Development and Child Welfare (WD&CW) Department. The Department of School Education shall depute 2037 Secondary Grade Teachers (SGTs) (three DRPs from each mandal) to participate in the District Resource Persons (DRPs) training programme, which will be conducted in two spells at nine venues across the State.
These DRPs should subsequently train the Anganwadi Workers in the State in coordination with the CDPOs and Supervisors of the WD&CW Department.
The list of DRPs identified from all 26 districts is placed in Annexure–I, which includes the names of the SGTs, their respective school names, and the UDISE codes.
All the Regional Joint Directors, District Educational Officers and Additional Project Coordinators in the State are hereby requested to act on the following immediately.
- Relieve the identified DRPs from their respective districts well in advance for 2 spells.
- Ensure their timely reporting at the venue at 8:00 AM for both the Spells.
- Issue necessary instructions to avoid any disruption in school-level academic activities.
- Monitor attendance and ensure 100% participation.
- AMOs are instructed to depute 3 DRPs from each mandal. For each spell of the training programme, DRPs shall be sent from only half of the mandals in the district. For example, if a district has 30 mandals, DRPs should be deputed from 15 mandals in one spell, and the remaining mandals will be covered in the subsequent spell.
This has got the approval of the State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Andhra Pradesh.
