Conduct of Spot Valuation – MARCH 2024 & JUNE 2024
Introduction: The SSC Public Examinations will be conducted from 18.03.2024 onwards. While all major Examinations will be completed by 27.03.2024, the two minor Examinations i.e., OSSC Paper-II and SSC Vocational (Theory) will be held on 28.03.2024 and 30.03.2024 respectively.
From SSC Public Examinations 2023, it has been Modified to conduct the SSC Public Examinations on CCE Pattern with 07 Papers as per the orders issued by the Government vide G O Ms No: 136 of School Education (Prog-II) Department, dated 22.08.2022. Accordingly, each paper shall have a maximum of 100 marks except General Science which consists of Physical Science and Biological Science shall have maximum of 50 marks each. Similarly for First Language Composite Course is 70 marks and 30 marks for its combination paper.
The Answer Booklets bundles for valuation will be dispatched by the Chief Superintendents to the Camp Officers concerned by speed post as per the distribution chart supplied by the DGE on the same day immediately after completion of the Examination. The said allotted bundles will be received by the Camp Officers paper code wise on the 2nd or 3rd day from the date of dispatch. The Camp Officers shall make immediate arrangements to get them coded after entering in the Receipt and Issue Register (Form-I maintained by the Dy. Camp Officer (Strong Room). The Spot Valuation of SSC wil be conducted as per the Venues proposed by the respective DEOs The Spot Valuation would commence from 01.04.2024 to 08.04.2024 for 08 days. The timings of the camp are as follows.
- Morning session from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm (4 hours)
- Evening session from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm (4 hours)
Evaluation:
Since, the SSC OSSC and Vocational SSC Public Examinations are being conducted under coding system the evaluation will be done under coding system. The procedure and steps involved and duties of different officers are given in detail separately under part – II of the guidelines.
Convening of Special Meetings :
All the Camp Officers have to be convened two special meetings with the connected Personnel as follows:
- One meeting with the Dy. Camp Officer (SR), Chief Coding Officers, Assist Coding Officers and Coding helpers to be held before starting of coding work.
- One meeting with Assistant Camp Officers (Valuation), Chief Examiners, Assistant Examiners and Special Assistants to be held on starting day of Spot Valuation Camp.
The Camp Officer and Dy. Camp Officer (S.R) shall very carefully go through the instructions and shall take all possible steps not only for the proper implementation of the same but also for the successful conduct and completion of SSC Spot Valuation within scheduled time without extension.

GUIDELINES TO THE CAMP OFFICER/ DEO
Effective and Efficient Conduct of Spot Valuation:
- The District Educational Officer concerned will act as Camp Officer for the conduct of Spot valuation at the District. It is a full time work assigned to him and he should not undertake any other item of work during the days of Spot Valuation. He is fully responsible for the proper and orderly conduct of spot valuation at the District level. It is a very responsible assignment, which requires meticulous planning and very careful attention to the smallest detail. The process of conduct of Examinations cannot be considered to have been completed without the completion of Spot- This year also in view of conduct of SSC Advanced Supplementary Examinations there is every need to complete the entire spot valuation work of SSC Public Examination within the scheduled time and as such it requires a thorough Planning and implementation.
- It has been observed by the District level observers in the past that certain DEOs are leaving the camp on some other official work during camp hours. This has been brought to the notice of the Government by the present The Government has directed that no camp officer shall leave the camp during camp timings under any circumstances. He should not leave the camp during camp timings on spot valuation days and should take frequent rounds to the rooms to check unauthorized persons moving within the camp and also in the rooms during spot valuation.
The District Educational Officer/ Camp Officer has to take action for the appointment of the following Camp Staff for smooth conduct of spot-valuation besides coding personnel as indicated in Part-IIinstructions.

The ACGE or in his absence any senior trustworthy Gazetted Officer under the control of the DEO may be appointed. |

Dy. Camp Officer: (Administration) |
A senior Gazetted Officer of the Education Department in the cadre Dy.E.O may be appointed. |

Asst. Camp Officer:(Valuation) |
07 / 08 persons for Six paper codes have to be appointed who should be the officials from Education Department only. The Assistant Camp Officer may be from MEOs / Dy. IOS /Gazetted HMs / Senior most School Assts. One ACO to be appointed for vocational papers valuation also. |

Clerks/Attenders |

- Two/three Senior Assistants/Superintendents as per the need for verification of remuneration and T.A/ D.A. Bills.
- One Special Assistant for assisting each of the ACO (Valuation).
